I lifted the bass guitar and gave Aarav a nod of my head, signaling that he ought to begin the final song of the day.
Our last song is, " Sun Raha hai".
Aarav began the song when I played the opening melody.
"Apne karam ki kar adaayein
Yaara, Yaaraa... yaara!"
Aarav gave such a nice, lofty aalap. Shrey and I exchanged a proud smile as we stared at one another.
The song's following melody was then introduced by Shrey on his acoustic guitar.
"Mujhko iraade de Kasamein de, waade de Meri duaaon ke ishaaron ko sahaare de Dil ko thikaane de Naye bahaane de Khaabon ki baarishon ko Mausam ke paimane de Apne karam ki kar adaayein Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein
Sun raha hai naa tu Ro raha hun main Sun raha hai naa tu Kyun ro raha hun main
Sun raha hai naa tu Ro raha hun main Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hun main"
I used my bass guitar to play its next base tune.
I can feel all the eyes on me.
"Manzilein ruswa hain Khoya hai raasta Aaye le jaaye Itni si iltejaa Ye meri zamanat hai Tu meri amaanat hai haan...
Apne karam ki kar adayein Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein Sun raha hai naa tu Ro raha hoon main Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hun main
Waqt bhi thehara hai Kaise kyun ye huaa Kaash tu aise aaye Jaise koi duaa Tu rooh ki raahat hai Tu meri ibaadat hai
Apne karam ki kar adaayein Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein"
The crowd began to sing along with Aarav as well. And this was the best moment, I assure you. For us, this was a hair-raising experience.
"Sun raha hai naa tu Ro raha hoon main Sun raha hai naa tu Kyun ro raha hun main
Sun raha hai naa tu Ro raha hun main Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hun main
Yaaraa...."
Everyone let up a huge clap as soon as the song concluded. Everyone was ecstatic. A dread that things might go wrong existed. However, everything went so smoothly.
My smile broadened the instant I saw him, and it got even bigger when I realized that he was grinning proudly at me.
There was a twinkle in his eyes as soon as our gazes locked, as though he was waiting for me to look at him.
How often will I be drawn to this boy?
Then, knowing there will be a dance party following the event, Aarav invited Dj Maavi to the stage.
As DJ MAAVI entered the stage, he shook hands with each of us. I said to him, "First you play some Punjabi songs or dance worthy songs so that we singles can dance together."
Everyone laughed as soon as they heard my words.
"Sure" , he said. And went to his DJ set.
Each of us descended from the platform and set up our instruments in the rear.
Anvi, Rudra, and Kanika gave us hugs as soon as we got outside.
Someone called, "Rudy" and we all turned to face him. Rish was standing with a boy. Who appeared to be about Rish's age.
"Dev", Rudra looked at the boy and said. Rudra and Dev gave each other hugs when Rish and Dev approached us.
They were looking like long lost brothers, Jo kumbh ke mele mein bichad Gaye the.
Rish and I exchanged a look and lifted our eyebrows, perhaps inquiring as to whether they know each other .
"Do you guys know each other?" Rish asked. "Yeah, we know each other, not even me but you too", Dev said putting his hand around Rudra's neck.
"Arey, didn't I tell you before coming here that I have a childhood friend who had moved to Udaipur 15 years ago?" Dev said smiling.
"Ohh, Rudra!!!" Rish said as if he too knew rudra.
"Hey buddy, Wassup?" Rudra said hugging Rish. "Hey man, how are you?" Rish asked. "I'm good." He replied.
"Agar tum logo ka ho gaya ho toh Hume bhi bata do ki tum log ek dusre ko kaise jaante ho?" I said raising my one eyebrow.
"We have known each other since childhood. Ain't I told you that I'm from Jaipur but 15 years ago we shifted here?" He said.
"Ohh!!" I, Shrey and Aarav said together.
" By the way, how do you guys know each other?" Rudra asked pointing towards me and rish.
"Since the hotel where these individuals are staying is located in front of Fatehsagar, we actually met there." I said.
"And do you reside close to Fatehsagar?" Dev asked me being curious. I can see Rish giving him a side eye. " Yeah, I live close to it"
" Ohhhhh" dev said.
Someone was watching me, I could feel it. My eyes met Shrey's and Aarav's suspicious gaze as I turned to glance behind me.
I laughed sheepishly.
I brought them both forward, holding their hands, and whispered, "I will tell you everything later."
"Hmm... You should" they both said together.
"You three monkeys whispering about what?" Rudra enquired.
"No- nothing, let's go and dance" I said and went to the Little crowded area.
They all trailed behind me.
Author's POV
Dj played , " Tum hi ho bandhu".
While Jeeva, Aarav, Kanika, Rudra, Anvi, and Dev were dancing, Krishav and Shrey were grinningly observing them from the side.
Krishav was constantly looking at jeeva. While, she was dancing her heart out.
" Dil Ki Takhti Par Hoon Likhti Ishqan Ishqan Jag Kya Jaane Dil Ko Mere Ishqan Kiska
Rabb Yaar Gale Le Saar Meri Mujhe Kya Parwah Iss Duniya Ki Tu Jeet Meri Jag Haar Meri Main Hoon Hi Nahi Iss Duniya Ki"
Jeeva was dancing hand in hand with Aarav. The smile on Krishav's face turned to anger.
Shrey was observing his expressions and He had realized that something was going on. He then followed Krishav's gaze which was on jeeva.
Somewhere he had guessed that Krish, knowingly or unknowingly, was the reason for Jeeva's tears that day.
But he couldn't draw judgments without hearing the entire tale, so for the time being he said nothing.
Subsequently, Anvi dragged Shrey along to dance.
Jeeva turned to face Rish because she sensed that someone was watching her. For an instant, Jeeva's heart raced because krishav was staring at her alone. Rish's eyes were filled with fire and madness.
Jeeva's steps just seemed to naturally gravitate in Rish's direction. She walked to stand before Rish. In Jeeva's eyes, Rish saw love for himself.
Jeeva took his hand and led him into the dance and started dancing with him.
"Bann ke chaahat nazron se khat Likhna likhna Tu hai jaisa mujhko waisa Dikhna dikhna
Besabak sarooron ka saathi Mujhe kya parwaah iss duniya ki Tu paas mere jag paas mere Main hoon hi nahi iss duniya ki"
She sang these lyrics looking directly into Krishav's eyes. The moment Jeeva touched krishav, all of his jealousy and rage vanished. At her touch, everything had faded from his memory.
Furthermore, since nobody can handle Rish's rage, this sensation was unfamiliar to him as well.
Rish is a highly composed individual who solely cares about his work but when he becomes enraged, no one can stand him. And this is known to everyone who is close to Rish.
But for the first time, someone had managed to diffuse his rage-and without taking any action.
And now, He was damn sure that she is the only one.
